My site was hacked so it was time to design a new site. I’m not going for beautiful as much as logical.
I’m just using a wordpress template and adding widgets and forms, etc. I worked on it locally with MAMP. First MAMP wouldn’t work. In the YouTube video it went so easily. Well, after much troubleshooting, it worked. Then I upgraded. Didn’t work again. I decided to go back to the old one. Now it was time to upload my site to the server. I watched four different videos and followed all of their directions. It never showed up on my site. And the final set of directions made it disappear from my local site. Well, it was mostly designed, and I made some sort of unknown, fatal mistake, so once again, I’m starting over.By changing the settings in WordPress on my local site to reflect the live site, — now my computer can’t find it, and I can’t open it to change the settings back. I’m sure this is easy, but it is time to give it up for now. So now I’m just working from my server. It seems like an easier process, but all mistakes show up, since I’m working live. So this one is up and running, but it is a work in progress. Hopefully, it will get better and better. And the good news is that I worked so long on the site that I ruined, that I’ve got a pretty solid plan of what I’m doing, so forging ahead should go faster. I’ll try not to blow anything up while working on this one. If anyone reading this knows the problem, feel free to comment.
Lots of time where I could have been painting, I’ve been working on this. I hope I have a few new brain cells to show for it.
